PPL - Private Pilot License

Prerequisite

• 17 years for obtaining a licence, 16 years for the first solo flight.

• Language requirements ICAO level 4 or higher (Swedish or English)

• Medical class II

The journey to your licence starts here!

A PPL licence is what is commonly known as a "private pilot's licence" and gives you the opportunity to fly privately (non-commercially) with friends and family, both within and outside Sweden's borders.

The certificate is combined with one or more ratings, the most common being SEP (Single Engine Piston) and NR (Night Rating).

The course lasts approximately 12 to 24 months and includes both theoretical and practical training.

The theory part is preferably done during autumn/winter, so that you can then devote yourself to the practical part over the summer, when the weather is at its best.

After your training, if you want to start working professionally as a pilot, the PPL is the first step, unlike the LAPL where you can only fly privately.

Theory course

The theoretical programme consists of four blocks, where you study two to three subjects at the same time. The theory is done remotely (CBT - Competency Based Training) and is held in English. During the course, we will have regular follow-ups to help you through the theory in the best possible way.

You will study the following nine subjects:

  • Air law
  • Aircraft general knowledge
  • Flight planning and performance
  • Human performance and limitations
  • Meteorology
  • Navigation
  • Operational procedures
  • Principles of flight
  • Communications
  • Practical course

Includes at least 45 hours of flight time, of which at least:

    • 25 hours with instructor

    • 10 hours PIC (solo flight)

    • 5 hours of solo cross-country flying

You will fly your first hours with a flight instructor and complete various basic exercises such as take-off and landing, emergency drills, etc.

When the instructor considers that you are ready, you will be let into the aircraft alone for the first time. An experience never to be forgotten!

After successfully completing the training, you can title yourself as a pilot! This gives you the opportunity to fly by yourself with passengers in our aircrafts.

A feeling of freedom that is hard to beat!
